The water-filtering abilities of farmed kelp could help reduce marine pollution in coastal areas, according to a new University of Alaska Fairbanks-led study.


Staff Alliance course fee stipends

The UA Staff Alliance is pleased to offer a scholarship for UA classes taken by staff that directly support their career or professional development. The scholarship, good for the 2023 spring semester, is for up to $250 per employee, while the funds last. To apply, you must first have submitted an employee tuition waiver form. Then, submit a fee scholarship request. Thank you to President Pitney and the UA Board of Regents for providing these funds and supporting professional development for staff.
