Join the International Arctic Research Center for the next IARC Salon on Thursday, Feb. 9 from noon to 1 p.m. Mike Sfraga, Brandon Boylan and Matthew Hickey will share a discussion on geopolitics in the Arctic.

The Rasmuson Library is holding a long awaited Alaska and Polar Regions book sale. Books will be available for purchase until the end of MayThe sale shelves are located on the main floor of Rasmuson Library near the Circulation desk. All proceeds fund the purchase of newly published Alaska and Polar Regions collections. The sale will have additional books added by noon every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. All items are priced as marked. Please pay at the Circulation Desk.


One Health, One Future 2023 International Conf.

All are invited to join the One Health, One Future 2023 International Conference. OHOF 2023 will be held Feb. 28 to March 3 at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel and Conference Center. In honor of Co-Production of Knowledge and collaboration, Indigenous registrants and students are free. This year’s theme is "Voices of One Health: Embracing Change & Transformation." If you work for the university, and your department is paying for your registration, you will need to register using your fund/org. Registration closes Feb. 14, 2023.

Fry Bread Friday Kickoff

Please join Chartwells in Arctic Java located at the Wood Center for Fry Bread Friday Kickoff on Feb. 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. They will be offering free fry bread with toppings. Come try the tasty treat and give suggestions for your favorite toppings! Beginning Friday, Feb. 17, fry bread will be available in Dine 49 at the Tu Taco station every Friday during lunch.


Early Bird closed this week; reopens Feb. 13

Early Bird Loaded Fries and Early Bird Burger are closed this week. They will reopen on Monday, Feb. 13.

Skiathon is back as mass start race

The Skiathon, a 20-kilometer classic-style ski race and tour, will be held on the UAF trails Sunday, March 5. The annual event is a fundraiser for UAF trails work. The registration fee is $15 if received by noon March 4. Late registration is $40. Finishers will receive a Skiathon patch.
