Friday Focus: Super-size UA Giving Day impact

UA Giving Day is next Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 22 and 23. During last year's Giving Day, 700 donors gave nearly $700,000 in gifts to UAF. This year, donors have committed to over $620,000 in giving challenges alone! Go to the website and check out some of the great challenges to super-size the impact of your gift. With your help, we are poised to smash last year's record.


Registration open for Spring Break Field Day Camp

Registration is now open for Spring Break Day Camp, March 13-17 hosted by the UAF Volleyball Team and Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning. This full-day action-packed camp is designed to provide a wide range of sports activities including but not limed to basketball, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee, kickball, capture the flag, soccer, and more. This camp is supervised by UAF student-athletes and coaches.

Festival of Native Arts returns as in-person celebration Feb. 24-25

The Festival of Native Arts returns as an in-person celebration Feb. 24-25 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Davis Concert Hall. The student-led event showcases Native culture through dance, music and arts. Read more.


UAF premieres new TV episode for student recruitment

The University of Alaska Fairbanks on Thursday premiered its episode of the streaming television show "The College Tour." The half-hour episode, developed in partnership with “The College Tour,” offers a view of UAF through the voices of current students. The episode is part of UAF’s strategic marketing efforts aimed at increasing enrollment. The episode will premiere on Amazon Prime on March 22. The show also streams on Roku and other platforms and has a potential audience of millions worldwide.

2023 National TRIO Day Celebration

Join UAF Upward Bound and Student Support Services in the Wood Center multi-level lounge on Thursday, Feb. 23 from noon to 2 p.m. as we celebrate the positive impacts of federal TRIO programs in our community and state. Light refreshments and food will be provided following the celebration!

UAF to host engineering open house Feb. 25

The University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Engineering and Mines will host its annual Engineering Open House from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Usibelli Engineering Building on the Troth Yeddha’ Campus in Fairbanks.
