Volunteers needed for URSA's Research and Creative Activity Day

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity will hold the 2023 Research and Creative Activity Day event on April 6 in the Wood Center Multilevel Lounge, and we are in need of volunteers! Whether you have an hour or a whole day, we would appreciate any on-campus assistance to help make this the best event it can be. We have a variety of roles to accommodate your schedule and interest throughout the day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are interested in helping us out this year, please contact Erin Kirchner.

Museum hosts annual open house

The University of Alaska Museum of the North will host its annual open house on Saturday, March 25, from noon to 4 p.m. Visitors can meet staff and researchers while touring the labs and galleries. Hands-on activities will be available for children and families. Admission is free all day, thanks to support from Alaska 529. For more information call 907-474-7505 or visit the museum online.

Omni CMS edit server outage and upgrade

The Omni CMS edit server, edit.alaska.edu, will have the newest version of Omni CMS web content management system installed on Friday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to noon. During this time website editors will not be able to make changes to their Omni CMS-hosted content for www.uaf.edu and www.alaska.edu.

Dozens descend upon Alaska to measure snow

Five scientists have padded their way on snowshoes into the middle of this frozen swamp in Fairbanks. They are here to measure the pillowy, perfect snowpack that has fallen here, flake by flake, since last October.


Mental Health First Aid classes offered in Spring

Student Health and Counseling will be teaching Mental Health First Aid to those interested on March 23-24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (class already full), and April 13-14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This course is open to any student, staff, faculty or administration members, and will cover valuable information for personal and professional use. Register for upcoming classes.
