Amy Broadwater to lead national counseling association

Amy Broadwater, an assistant professor in the counseling department with the school of education, has been named president-elect of the American College Counseling Association. Broadwater will begin serving her three-year term on July 1, 2023.


Office of Grants and Contracts Administration returns to VCAS

In 2019, the Office of Grants and Contracts Administration was organizationally repositioned from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research to test better synergy with research units. Kim Cox, executive director of OGCA, will report to Amanda Wall, associate vice chancellor for financial services, within the Administrative Services division.

The UAF Department of Theatre and Film invites the community to live studio-audience filming of the TV pilot Tumyaraq-qaa, on Friday, March 31 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the Lee H. Salisbury Lab Theatre, written and directed by Kavelina Torres. Reserve free tickets at 907-474-7751, smseifert@alaska.edu or the UAF Theater and Film website. The production is suitable for all ages. There is no intermission.

Faculty orders for regalia are due NOW to arrive for commencement! 

Come and participate in the 2023 commencement ceremony and be there to celebrate your students' accomplishments with them. If you want to make sure you'll have your regalia for the ceremony, you MUST get your rental orders in on this Google formIf you plan to purchase items, please contact the UAF Bookstore. Whether renting or buying, put you order in before March 25 to get your regalia in time for the ceremony!


Students climb on the UAF ice tower.Ice climbing competition

Join us Friday, March 31 from 4-8 p.m. at the SRC ice climbing tower for our annual Ice Jam event! This event is free and food and prizes are provided for competitors. Register at the climbing tower yurt upon arrival and get geared up to climb. There is limited climbing gear available to use for free. The competition format is speed climbing on the ice and point-based on the dry-tool wall.
