Please join me in recognizing the contributions of staff at this year’s longevity
and awards ceremony from 10-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 5, in Schaible Auditorium. We will recognize the recipients of a number of awards,
including the Chancellor's Cornerstone Award winner. I encourage all employees to take advantage of the professional and team building
activities offered (in-person and online), or join your colleagues for lunch at the Wood Center. Employees need to sign up for sessions and meals in advance.
The Alaska Fisheries Science Center will host a virtual seminar featuring Jessica
Glass, an assistant professor at UAF’s College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences. Glass
will present “Long Live the Kingfish: Integrating Genomic Patterns and Ecological
Processes to Understand Evolution in the Oceans.” Glass will discuss how the field
of genomics has revolutionized evolutionary biology and our ability to detect linkages
between genes, behavior and the environment. Join online or by phone: 415-527-5035, access code 2760 445 8161.
