Podcast explores Alaska's climate change through sound

In a new podcast series called "Ice and Fire," University of Alaska Fairbanks graduate takes listeners on an audio tour of climate change in Alaska, weaving together a place-based narrative from soundscapes and sonic textures intertwined with scientific and personal accounts.

UAF professor selected for national excellence in teaching award

Judy Atkinson has been named winner of the Excellence in Teaching award by the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges. Atkinson has taught Mathematics for the Department of Developmental Education for over 20 years. The award will be presented at the association's conference in November.

UAF PolarExpress card design contest poll

Thank you to everyone who participated in the UAF PolarExpress design competition. We received 45 excellent submissions, and it is genuinely humbling to glimpse the immense artistic talent of our UAF community. After a difficult selection process, the pre-selected judging panel whittled the submissions down to 10 finalists. Vote for your favorite design here. The Office of the Bursar will announce the new design and grand prize winner on July 1.
