Dr. Cheryl Rosa rejoins UAF as attending veterinarian, director of Animal Resource Center

Dr. Cheryl Rosa joined the University of Alaska Fairbanks on the Troth Yeddha' Campus in her new role as attending veterinarian on July 17. As the attending veterinarian and director of the Animal Resource Center, Rosa will be responsible for the health and well-being of all animal subjects used in research or teaching activities at UAF. This role includes the oversight of husbandry and animal housing. She most recently served as the deputy director of the U.S. Arctic Research Commission in Anchorage where she worked to strengthen Arctic research and the federal government's ties to the State of Alaska, Arctic Indigenous groups and international partners.


CSRR and DEC executive director recruitment

The executive director of the Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities and the Department of Equity and Compliance is now open for internal applicants through Friday, July 28, 2023. All eligible and interested parties are encouraged to apply. The executive director will oversee compliance, student accountability and support needs, and misconduct investigations outlined under Board of Regents’ Policy (01.02, 01.04. and 09.02).  Please direct any questions regarding this change to the Office of the Chancellor.

Salmon is an Alaska staple, and a series of University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension workshops in Sitka will focus on salmon nutrition and how to cook and preserve the tasty and nutritious fish.
