General Education Requirement courses play a pivotal role in shaping the academic,
professional, and life skills of our students. UAF GER courses welcome students from
every degree pathway and are designed around four learning outcomes. The Energy, Aspirations, Gifts, Expertise, Reflections sub-committee of the GER and Core Committee is the faculty group responsible for completing the
assessment of the GER LOs. The sub-committee welcomes you to participate in the conversation
about general education at UAF. Anyone with an interest in GERs is welcome to attend. Learn more about the learning outcomes and upcoming sessions.
Annually, the Facilities Services Division of Utilities performs preventative maintenance
and repair work on the power plant and the utilidor system. Starting on May 5, steam
from the power plant will be shut off to the entirety of the Troth Yeddha' Campus
for two weeks. Steam will return to service around May 19. Stewardship of our utility
investments is critical to maintain a high level of reliability in delivering power

The VCR's Office, with support from Athletics, is excited to announce our third annual
Research at the Rink! Join us in celebrating UAF Research on Friday, Feb. 16 as our
Nanooks hockey team takes on the LIU Sharks! The puck drops at 7:07 p.m. We will have
two free tickets available for all staff, faculty, and students in research in any
