Staff Alliance is offering support for staff professional development activities that
directly support their professional development in FY25. Examples include but are
not limited to: professional certifications, attending or presenting at a conference,
professional society memberships, online or in-person training, webinars. (Please

Theresa Bakker has been named UAF's director of development and alumni relations.
In the position, she will oversee fundraising, donor relations and alumni relations
at UAF. Her appointment also formally merges the development team and the alumni team
into a single department, a model that aims to facilitate a unified approach to the
university's engagement with its donors and alumni. Read more about Bakker and her new role.
The deadline for an interim director of the Honor's College has been extended to 5
p.m., Monday, Sept. 30, 2024. This position is for the remainder of the fall 2024
semester and through the spring 2025 semester while a search takes place for a permanent

Beyond the 9-5, an art exhibit featuring visual art created by non-art faculty and
staff is on display in the University Art Gallery in the Fine Arts Complex, Art 313,
