Dear UAF staff, faculty and students,
Earlier today, UA President Pat Pitney announced that she would not, at this time,
be approving a broad vaccination requirement for in-person UAF students and employees
in the Fairbanks North Star Borough.
The president encouraged us to continue to use the process we already have in place
to implement narrow vaccine requirements where special situations warrant. Supervisors
can request vaccination requirements for specific high-contact or high-risk environments.
Those requests should go from supervisors to deans and directors, who can then make
a formal request for a vaccination requirement. You can find more information about that process on our UAF COVID-19 website.
If you aren’t already vaccinated, or are due for a booster dose, you can find appointments
online at vaccines.gov. Vaccines are free and remain the best strategy for bringing this pandemic to a close.
Thanks for choosing UAF.
