Dear UAF students, staff and faculty,

As we come to the end of this memorable year, I want to acknowledge and congratulate each one of you for your determination and commitment to yourself and the UAF community. You have been innovative in developing solutions to the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic for yourself and others. Every day I see evidence of the care you have for the people around you as you advanced your academic progress.

I want to extend special congratulations to the students graduating this Saturday, and to the emeriti, honorary degree, and Usibelli Award and Meritorious Service Award recipients we are honoring this week.

This year’s graduates are being celebrated during our 100th commencement in a variety of ways. Be sure to bookmark the commencement website so you can stay up to date. Here’s a quick rundown:

• April 29: Kuskokwim Campus commencement

• April 30: Troth Yeddha’ Campus commencement at the Carlson Center (11 a.m. and 4 p.m.)

• May 5: Chukchi Campus commencement

• May 6: Bristol Bay Campus hybrid commencement

• May 12: Northwest Campus commencement

Attendees who wish to wear a mask are welcome to do so! If you cannot make it out to commencement in person, I encourage you to watch the video streams on YouTube, or tune in to the 11 a.m. ceremony and/or the 4 p.m. ceremony on Facebook, and congratulate our newest alumni.
