Dear UAF students, faculty and staff,
I was saddened to hear of the recent passing of Rob Duke. Duke was an Associate Professor
in the Justice Department within UAF’s College of Liberal Arts. His passion for teaching
was known both inside the department and throughout our campus. He served as faculty
at UAF since August 2011.
You may have known that Duke had been fighting a long-standing battle with cancer
over the past several years. During this battle, he never faltered in his commitment
to restorative justice and his determination to serve his community.
If you or someone you know is struggling with this loss, please don’t struggle alone.
Free help is available.
For students, the Student Health and Counseling Center can provide support or counseling.
Call 907-474-7043 to speak with someone, or, for more information, visit the student counseling services webpage. Employees are eligible for free counseling through the Employee Assistance Program. Please call 1-888-969-0155, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
