Dear faculty and staff,
Yesterday, you received an update from President Pitney regarding the status of United Academics CBA negotiations. As stated in President
Pitney’s communication, yesterday’s meeting between the UA negotiating team and the
UNAC faculty union brought us closer to agreement. That is positive news! While there
is still work to be done, we are thrilled that progress is being made.
While we hope an agreement is reached soon, UAF has been undergoing continuity planning
for various outcomes. To that end, regardless of the course and duration of negotiations,
students and employees will be supported. For our first year students living on campus,
tomorrow is Rev-it-up, the first day our residence halls open for move-in. This week,
let us welcome the return of students and the vibrancy they bring to UAF.
