Dear faculty and staff,

Welcome to the fall semester! Whether you were on contract this summer or recently returned, I hope you enjoyed your summer and are ready to hit the ground running this fall.

It was energizing to see students bustling about campus last week. Thanks to all the staff and faculty who worked to make Rev-it-up and New Student Orientation a welcoming event for our new students. I am looking forward to another year filled with transformative experiences.

We have a lot to be proud of as we enter the new academic year. UAF continues to provide a world-class education to our students, invest in meaningful community partnerships, and conduct top-tier research as America’s Arctic University and Alaska’s Research University. Thank you for the work you do to make this possible.

I invite you to join me on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. in the Davis Concert Hall for the 2023 Convocation. At this year’s Convocation, I will reflect on our recent successes and share a bit about the exciting opportunities for UAF in the coming years. And importantly, all staff and faculty are invited to an ice cream social after the event.
