This morning I was saddened to learn of the death of one of our students,
Sylvester Smith, in an accident on the Parks Highway Monday evening.
Sylvester was a petroleum engineering major and a longtime student employee
with OIT desktop support.
My condolences go to Sylvester’s family, as well as his colleagues and
friends in UAF’s close-knit community. If you or someone you know is
struggling with this loss, please don’t struggle alone. There is free help
available for both students and employees.
