I was saddened to learn that one of our employees, Jerry Brigham, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning. He and his wife were living in Madill, Oklahoma, at the time of his death. Jerry was a retired adjunct faculty member who taught history of the cinema and film criticism on the Fairbanks campus. He continued to teach those subjects for eLearning and Distance Education. Jerry was also well-known for his work at KUAC.

My condolences go to Jerry’s family, as well as to his students and colleagues. If you or someone you know is struggling with this loss, please don’t struggle alone. Free help is available for both students and employees.

For students, the Student Health and Counseling Center can provide support or counseling. Call 474-7043 to speak with someone, or, for more information, visit www.uaf.edu/chc/counseling-services-1/. Employees are eligible for free counseling through the Employee Assistance Program. Please call 1-888-993-7650, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
