Ski Land will be at Outdoor Adventures in the SRC printing season passes for all student
taking 6 credits or more. Students can visit Outdoor Adventures on Wednesday, Oct.
26 or Thursday, Nov. 3 from noon to 5 p.m. to get their pass.
The American Indian Science and Engineering Society released a short documentary film
about University of Alaska Fairbanks Tamamta Program Coordinator Sonia Ibarra after
she was presented with the 2022 AISES Indigenous Excellence Award earlier this month.
Applications are being accepted for the Biomedical Learning and Student Training Spring
2023 Undergraduate Research Experience until Nov. 6, 2022, at midnight. Current undergraduate students from Fort Lewis College, Salish Kootenai College, Diné
College, Alaska Pacific University, Iḷisaġvik College, all UAS and UAF campuses, from
all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds are invited to apply. The BLaST
URE award is up to $2,500 for Spring 2023. Information about requirements and a link
to the online application can be found on the BLaST website.
Registration is open for the UAF Fall Career Fair scheduled for Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
in the Wood Center. Whether you are a first year student exploring, a senior looking for a job or alumni
with a secured position, the Fall Career Fair is for you! There will be over 65 employers

Welcome to Nanook Recreation's virtual race series challenge! This virtual race is
meant to help you get out and exercise during the winter. The idea behind this event
is that each person who participates runs, jogs, walks, or skis their own 5K, 10K
or half-marathon.

URSA Mentor Awards open for applications every fall and provide funding of up to $6,000
to those mentoring undergraduate research and creative projects at UAF and affiliated
campuses. Full-time UAF faculty members, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students

The university provides tools to assist you in knowing what to do when you become
aware of difficult situations, including sexual harassment or assault, through Title
IX training and online resources. UA Safe Title IX Training is mandatory, and must be completed by Oct. 31, 2022.
The Faculty Senate Open Educational Resources Ad Hoc Committee invites students to
take a brief survey on how they use textbooks. Those who complete the survey will be eligible to enter a drawing for one of three
new Chromebooks. Responses are anonymous and will be used for informing the committee's
outreach and education activities. The survey is open until 11:59 p.m., Nov. 4.
Join UAF First Gen as we celebrate National First-Generation College Day with national
speaker and author (and TRIO SSS alum) Richard Taylor Jr. in the Wood Center multi-level
lounge on Nov. 4 from 4:30-6 p.m. Richard's message breaks cultural boundaries and challenges bias social norms around
the topics of mental health and student resilience. While we are celebrating National
First-Generation College Day, everyone is invited! A small reception will follow and Richard's book 31 Days of Power-A Simplified Approach
To Every Day Mental Health will be available (while supplies last) for UAF First Gen
students. First Gen students who check-in at the event will also be entered for a $500 tuition
scholarship!

The University of Alaska Museum of the North will hold its Halloween at the Museum
celebration on Monday, Oct. 31, from 4-6 p.m.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks has joined the National Association of Collegiate
Esports. UAF is the first university in Alaska to achieve NACE membership and one
of only a handful in the western United States.
