Kick-Off Day on Dec. 3

It is time for students to register for Spring 2023! The Registration Week Kick-Off event lets students meet with representatives from most UAF student services organizations in one place. Academic advisors will be ready to go over registration steps and answer any questions students have. This fair-style event also features experts from the Financial Aid Office, Office of the Registrar, Department of Residence Live and Dining, Department of Military and Veteran Services, Student Success Center and more. Students who register for nine or more credits before Dec. 10 will be entered to win prizes. Visit the Registration Week page for more information.

Educators Rising Alaska student officer elected national president

Educators Rising Alaska is celebrating the accomplishments of one of their high school students. Torrey McClain, a senior at Palmer High School, was elected president of the Educators Rising national student officers. Educators Rising Alaska is one of four programs housed under UAF’s Office of K-12 Outreach, located on the Troth Yeddha' campus. The UAF Student Health and Counseling Center is offering its final flu vaccine clinic of the season for students, faculty and staff (to include partners of faculty and staff). UAF student wins scholarship to attend national conference

Karsten Sierra wanted to go to the national conference of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society this year, but the costs presented a challenge. After encouragement from a couple of sources, the sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering and a student employee in UAF’s Geophysical Institute Communications unit decided to apply for travel scholarships.

Join Chancellor White and the university community for the annual holiday gathering on Dec. 6 from 4-6 p.m. Wood Center multilevel lounge and mall area. Refreshments will be served and the UAF Jazz Combo will perform. Staff and faculty are encouraged to donate non-perishable items to the Wood Center Food Pantry.
