UAF Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting an Art-o-Mat machine for the month of May. This retired cigarette machine has been refurbished to dispense small works of original art for $5. Learn more about the Art-o-Mat project here. 2023-2024 AY24 BLaST URE funding opportunity

The Biomedical Learning and Student Training program invites students to apply to earn up to $5,000 to conduct research in the next academic year 2023-2024. These awards may be used to cover hourly wages, tuition, travel, supplies and services. The deadline to apply is May 28 by midnight. For more info, visit the BLaST URE website.

Alaskans: Submit ice photos to help predict flooding

Fresh Eyes on Ice, a University of Alaska Fairbanks citizen science project, is urging Alaskans to send in photos to help predict flooding in the state. To participate, Alaskans can submit pictures of river and lake ice to the project website with location information and a brief description of conditions. Read more ...

Learn about the groundbreaking science happening at the University of Alaska Fairbanks through engaging, family-friendly activities on Thursday, May 18 from 4-7 p.m. Visit with research groups and colleges along the West Ridge of UAF’s Troth Yeddha’ Campus. Park for free in lots along Koyukuk Drive. Don’t miss the free ice cream social hosted by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research.
