Last week was full of events as we geared up to celebrate our graduates during UAF's
101st Commencement. Check out some highlights in our Facebook album.
We really want to know what you think about the Cornerstone newsletter and other tools the university uses to communicate with you. Please take a short survey to share your feedback. Your answers will be anonymous and it will take about 5 minutes
to complete the survey. It has been two years since University Relations last gathered input from students
about university communications, so we are looking forward to your comments. Survey
results will be used to help improve communication at UAF.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host the Really Free Market recycling event
on Saturday, May 20, in the parking lot next to the Lola Tilly Commons. The market has a drive-up lane, and volunteers will be there to help unload donations
from 8 to 10 a.m. Organizers say more volunteers are needed to help with set-up during
those hours. The market will only be open to shoppers from 10 to 11 a.m. All items are free for
the taking, with no selling, bartering or swapping allowed. For more information or to volunteer, contact UAF Summer Sessions at 907-474-7021 or via email.
Since 2014, the Biomedical Learning and Student Training program at UAF has supported
undergraduates and scientists from all biomedical fields through its funding opportunities.
The Biomedical Learning and Student Training program invites students to apply to
earn up to $5,000 to conduct research in the next academic year 2023-2024. These awards
may be used to cover hourly wages, tuition, travel, supplies and services. The deadline to apply is May 28 by midnight. For more info, visit the BLaST URE website.
