International Self-Care Day celebration

Join the Nanook Prevention & Empowerment Network for an afternoon of rejuvenation and fun as we celebrate International Self-Care Day on Monday, July 24 from noon to 3 p.m. in Constitution Park. There will be line dancing, crafts, yard games, bowling, ice cream, food trucks, and opportunities to win day passes to the Student Recreation Center! PolarExpress design winner announced

With over 1,000 votes, the UAF community chose Ula Boughan's design, Blue and Gold, as the winner of the the UAF PolarExpress card design competition. Congratulations!


Veteran Student Orientation on Aug. 25

This free event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will inform student veterans of all their VA educational benefits and how we can help them with access. We will explain what paperwork is required and when it must be submitted. We will also have representatives from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs and the Wounded Warrior Project at the orientation. Lunch will be provided!

Jessica Cherry, NOAA NCEIExtreme precipitation and the blue economy around Chugachmiut

Join the UAF Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy and Geographic Information Network of Alaska for a webinar about extreme precipitation and the blue economy in the Chugach region of Alaska. Speaker Jessica Cherry from NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information will discuss the history and impacts of extreme precipitation in Seward, Valdez, Cordova, and Kodiak, and connections to the maritime economy and infrastructure. Implications for a changing climate in the communities will also be discussed. Visit our website for more info and to register.


Save the date! Party in the Park, fall 2023

Student Leadership and Involvement will be hosting the annual Party in the Park event on Tuesday, Aug. 29,  from noon to 2 p.m. at the start of the fall 2023 semester. Registration will open at the start of August.
