UAF CTC Registration Bash on Aug. 17

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College is hosting a Registration Bash event Aug. 17 from 4-6 p.m. at 604 Barnette Street. CTC Student Services will be on hand to assist with applications for admission, advising, financial aid and class registration. The $40 admission application fee will be waived at this event. Invasive plantsWildfire and invasive plants in boreal forests

Join UAF researchers Katie Spellman, Christa Mulder and Taylor Seitz during the next Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy webinar on Aug. 22 from 11a.m. to noon as they highlight the current status of non-native plant invasions in burned areas of Alaska’s boreal forest region and ongoing research efforts studying long-term trends. They will also provide an overview of what factors influence the vulnerability of boreal forests to non-native plant invasions along with how non-native plants are reaching affected habitat.
