Walk-in flu clinics

Student Health and Counseling will have walk-in flu clinics available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, Tuesday, Nov. 26, Tuesday, Dec. 3, and Thursday, Dec. 5. Learn more about the flu clinics.

International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day memorial craft event

Join ORCA, NAMI, and the Fairbanks Wellness Coalition for a memorial crafting event on Friday, Nov. 22, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Wood Center Multi-Level Lounge to create a special UAF collaborative piece of art honoring survivors of suicide loss. Read more about the event.

BLaST celebrates November 2024 Scientist of the Month

John Harley, a research assistant professor at the University of Alaska Southeast Juneau, is the BLaST Scientist of the Month for November 2024! Harley has been involved with BLaST since 2015. He was a former BLaST Graduate Mentoring Research Assistant for two years as a Ph.D. student in biochemistry and graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2017. Harley’s research focuses on a One Health framework, where linkages between humans and the global and local environment and animals are seen as connected. Read more on Harley and his research.

A combination of corporate support and the University of Alaska Fairbanks' commitment to science communication has allowed the Institute of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Extension to leverage new initiatives to increase awareness of agriculture's importance to Alaska's complex food system. The annual HessGiving event is Nov. 28 from 1-4 p.m. in the MBS Complex Hess Rec Center. Adult Mental Health First Aid class Nov. 23

Summer Sessions and the Fairbanks Wellness Coalition are co-hosting a free Adult Mental Health First Aid course on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults.
