During the 10th annual Howard Rock and Ted Stevens Smokehouse Gala, Herb Schroeder was awarded the Friends of First Alaskans Ted Stevens Award, given to a person who has shown, through their support of Native issues, that they are friends of the Alaska Native community. 


Dr. Diane Hirshberg, professor of education policy, has been selected as Director for the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER).

UA Foundation names new board, committee members

The University of Alaska Foundation has named two new members to its board of directors, added one new member to its investment committee, and elected a new slate of officers effective January 1. 

Joining the UA Foundation Board are Anna Atchison and Jonathon Taylor. Gail Schubert joins the board’s investment committee.

University of Alaska Board of Regents to hold board meeting Jan. 14

The University of Alaska Board of Regents will hold a one-day full board meeting to discuss innovation in business, leadership and advocacy. The meeting will take place Friday, Jan. 14 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. and can be viewed live from the UA Board of Regents website
