University of Alaska FY23 budget focuses on students, affordable education and key economic initiatives

During its first in-person meeting in more than two years, the University of Alaska Board of Regents adopted a FY23 spending plan that aligns with the university's key goals, funds student scholarships and high-quality education programs, improves student-facing IT systems, supports key economic growth initiatives including Arctic research, and increases capacity for high-demand workforce and career training.

University employees and students have another chance to nominate outstanding staff members for the 2022 Staff Make Students Count Award! The nomination period has been extended through June 10th, 2022.

UA Foundation hosts reunion gathering for current, former regents and board members

On June 1, The University of Alaska Foundation hosted the first-ever reunion bringing current and former members of its board of directors and current and former members of the University of Alaska Board of Regents together for an evening that rekindled connections and celebrated the success of the UA system and foundation.

As we bid a fond farewell to Spoke, effective July 1, 2022 HR employees and customers will have a streamlined interface (Enterprise Service management or ESM) for submitting requests via UA HR's website.

Personal Holiday and Annual Leave Forfeiture Reminder

For employees who qualify for a Personal Holiday, it must be taken by June 18. Additionally, any unused annual leave in excess of 240 hours will be forfeited after June 30.

Reminder to Users of Adobe Creative Products

Adobe's license agreement with the university has been updated and no longer includes free Keyserver access to Adobe software. Beginning in early May of this year, Adobe customers who use the university's Keyserver to access the software-- programs like InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop -- can start using these products through Adobe Creative Cloud @ UA.

During its June 3 meeting in Anchorage, the University of Alaska Board of Regents approved a resolution of appreciation for Chief Treasury Office Tamera 'Tammi' Weaver who will be leaving the University of Alaska after 29 years of service.

During its June 3 full-board meeting in Anchorage, the University of Alaska Board of Regents approved a resolution of appreciation for Bruce Schultz, who is retiring from his position as the University of Alaska Anchorage Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs after a distinguished career in leadership roles spanning three decades, including serving as Interim University of Alaska Anchorage Chancellor in 2021.
