During its June 3 full-board meeting in Anchorage, the University of Alaska Board
of Regents approved a resolution of appreciation for Bruce Schultz, who is retiring
from his position as the University of Alaska Anchorage Vice Chancellor for Student
Affairs after a distinguished career in leadership roles spanning three decades, including
serving as Interim University of Alaska Anchorage Chancellor in 2021.
On Monday, May 2, UAS honored faculty at an event hosted by the Office of the Provost.
Faculty Excellence Awards were presented and the designation of Faculty Emerita was
bestowed on Professor Jan Straley.
Dr. Tonia Dousay has been selected as the new director for the UAA School of Education
(SoE) and she will begin her role July 1.
