The FIF is a $300,000 financial commitment by the University of Alaska to promote
inter-university collaboration in program development, scholarly endeavors and student
engagement with the goal of reducing the cost to degree and promoting internship opportunities
for students. Proposals are due by November 7.
The University of Alaska administration filed a response to the Unfair Labor Practice
detailing the university's actions and good faith efforts to negotiate. The administration
also filed its own complaint with the Alaska Labor Relations Agency alleging unlawful
labor practices by UNAC to ensure the entire context of the negotiations process is
before the hearing officer.
The First National Bank Alaska Finance Lab is scheduled to open in fall 2023. The
lab, housed at UAA, will support business education and collaborative learning opportunities
for students attending all three of Alaska's public universities.

The Alaska State Committee for Research (SCoR) is seeking nominations for the Alaska
Innovators Hall of Fame. Past honorees include ancient and contemporary inventors,
tenacious researchers, bold entrepreneurs, and other ingenious Alaskans.

The Campus Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 (known as the "Clery Act"
) and the Campus Fire Safety Right-to-Know Act require that colleges and universities
provide timely warnings of crimes that represent a threat to the campus community,
to publish an annual security report and an annual fire safety report, distribute
the reports to all students and employees, and inform prospective students and employees
about the reports.
