Save the Date: Systemwide Town Hall October 24, 2023

University of Alaska system staff, students and faculty are invited to a virtual Town Hall with UA President Pat Pitney, on Tuesday, October 24, from 1-2 p.m via Zoom or by watching the livestream.

1990 (Clery Act) and Campus Fire Safety Right-to-Know Act 2008

These two acts require that colleges and universities provide timely warnings of crimes, publish an annual security and fire safety report, distribute the reports to all students and employees, and inform prospective students and employees about the reports.

FAFSA delay for 2024-2025

The 2024-2025 FAFSA Application will be delayed until December 2023. Students attending school during the Fall of 2024, Spring of 2025, or the Summer of 2025 should complete their FAFSAs in December.

Her responsibilities at UAS include Title IX, Equal Employment Opportunity issues, the American Disabilities Act/504 requirements, and Clery Act compliance.

Van Flein to serve as ORCA executive director

As executive director, Van Flein will oversee Clery, Title IX, Title VII, ADA and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act compliance, student accountability and Student CARE team, and misconduct investigations outlined under Board of Regents’ Policy.

Businessman Steve Colligan has been named by Gov. Mike Dunleavy to the University of Alaska Board of Regents.

Taber to serve as continuous improvement project manager

Samara Taber is transitioning to a new position as the UAF continuous improvement project manager. Taber has served as the executive director of university advancement and a member of the chancellor's core cabinet since 2020. She will start her new role on Nov. 6, 2023.
