Tidelines Institute Summer Intensive: Climate Change Communication & Advocacy
Investigate how society is responding to climate change while immersed in the beauty of southeast Alaska.
Applications are closed for the 2021 intenstive. The Tidelines Institute Summer Intensive focused on Climate Change Communication and Advocacy. This summer intensive is a partnership between the UAF Climate Scholars Program and the Tidelines Institute and will be co-taught by Kristin Timm, of UAF's International Arctic Research Center and Zachary Brown, Co-Executive Director of the Tidelines Institute.
In the classroom and in the field, the course will engage students in scholarship, service, and hands-on learning in the natural setting of a remote camp in Southeast Alaska. Together, we'll explore how we can build bridges, engage others, and take meaningful action on climate change through our communication and advocacy efforts.
When: June 3-7, 2022
Where: Tidelines Institute makes its home at two campuses, located 25 miles apart along Icy Strait, one of the northernmost stretches of the inside passage. We will fly in and out of Juneau, Alaska and spend the week at the Inian Island Campus.
How: The intensive will be in-person only, adopting COVID-19 safety measures.
