Student of the Month: Abigail Steffen

Abigail is a fourth year student at UAF, working on earning a BS in Natural Resource Management, a BA in Foreign Languages, and a minor in Global Climate Adaptation and Policy. Abigail is not only an active student in the Honors College, but is also a participant in the Climate Scholars Program. Her passion lies with addressing the climate crisis through both social and institutional change. Abigail is a member of the Fairbanks North Star Borough Joint Climate Action Task Force where she works under Dr. Sarah Trainor where she studies climate action and policy on local scales. She also serves on the Fairbanks Climate Action Coalition where she promotes environmental, racial, and civil rights. Her love for Alaska drives her community climate action plans. despite being so involved in her community and academics, Abigail is always sure to make time for friends, basketball, and adventures.
