Renewable Energy in Alaska's Rural Communities: Interdisciplinary Program
I had a great experience as an interdisciplinary student. I ran into some difficulties at first finding three advisors for my advisory panel but after some searching I was able to find the...[faculty]...I needed. I combined political science and art history with a sprinkling of visual art and journalism. While I am now working in the field of journalism, I have found that my studies of political science and history have served me extremely well. I believe one of the most significant benefits of an interdisciplinary degree is the ability specifically craft a degree that will serve your absolute needs for the career you hope to go into. While a pre-designed degree can sometimes provide you with those skills, such as biology or engineering, journalism involves so much political and historical knowledge...my undergraduate degree...[plays]...a key role in my career.
BA Goals Option, Fall 2017 graduate, The History of Art and Political Science: Interdisciplinary Studies
