From College to Rural Communities

cutting-meat_uluUAF's Center for One Health Research (COHR) seeks to build and support education, at all levels, across Alaska and throughout the circumpolar North.  These educational programs will synergize traditional and Western ways of knowing through the One Health paradigm that sees human, animal and environmental health as one inseparable entity.

We see One Health as more than the absence of disease, but instead a state of individual and community well-being that incorporates physical, mental, behavioral, cultural and spiritual health.

We have partnered with elementary, middle and high school programs across Alaska, and we are building undergraduate, master's and Ph.D. programs, here at UAF, focused on understanding and putting One Health concepts into practice.
