Congratulations to our fiction book prize winner, Caleb Tankersley! His collection, Sin Eaters, was selected by our judge, Julie Iromuanya, and will be published by University of Alaska Press. Julie commended the collection for its “rich, highly imagined stories [which] are deeply felt and emotionally resonant.” Definitely a book you’ll want to keep on your radar! You can read the rest of Julie’s comments below.

Julie also named The Last Lock by Aracelis Asendorf as a runner-up. Once again, we want to congratulate Caleb and Aracelis on these honors, and to thank everyone who submitted to this year’s prize.

Headshot of 2021 book prize winner, Caleb Tankersley Sin Eaters uses an off-kilter approach to explore religion, faith, and the oddities of what it means to be human in a vast world beyond our grasp.
