Moye Chen - Withdrew from competition

Moye Chen has performed extensively as a concert pianist in Asia and the United States.

A native of Beijing, Chen began his piano study at the age of 7. In 1997, he moved»to Shanghai. He performed during the ceremony held for the return to»China of the Macao administrative region, near Hong Kong, in 1999.

Chen has won many international competitions. He received June and Charles Ross Fellowship awards in»2012 and 2013.

He has»performed as a soloist with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Oberlin Chamber Orchestra,»Oberlin Orchestra and Asian Ensemble Orchestra.

Chen earned his bachelor’s and master’s»degrees from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and an artist diploma from the Oberlin Conservatory»of Music. His principal teachers include Hung-Kuan Chen, Angela Cheng, Tema Blackstone,»William Heiles, Cheung-Yu Mo, and Xiaosheng Zhao.

Chen is pursuing his doctorate of musical arts at the University of Illinois.
