Maria Kharsel
Maria Kharsel was born into a family of musicians in 1984 in Donetsk, Ukraine. She began studying piano at an early age and, at 11, debuted solo at the Donetsk S. Prokofiev State Conservatory.
Her professors say she possesses bright pianistic individuality, virtuosity and a deep understanding of musical works.
In Ukraine, she studied under Tatiana N. Polievitch and Professor Aleksander Vitovsky. After moving to Russia, she continued under Olga I. Ousenko at the Omsk School of Arts and Aleksey A. Nasedkin at the Central Music School. She studied with Nasedkin and Natalia Troull at the conservatory. She took post-graduate studies at the St. Petersburg Conservatory with Professor Pavel G. Egorov.
Kharsel performs as a soloist and collaborates with orchestras in Russia and Europe. She is a prize winner in international piano competitions, including second place in the 2012 V. Lotard-Schevchenko International Piano Competition in Ekaterinburg.
