Timur Mustakimov
Timur Mustakimov was born in Nizhnekamsk, Russia, and began his piano studies at age of 9 with Tatyana Kiseleva.
At 12, he won the regional piano competition in the Republic of Tatarstan. He entered the Special Music School for Gifted Children in Kazan, where he studied with Professor Alfiya Burnasheva. In 2006, he entered the Kazan State Conservatory.
In 2011, Mustakimov was awarded a master’s degree in music at Mannes College in New York City, where he continued his studies with Vladimir Feltsman. He won a concerto competition and, as the winner, performed with the Mannes Orchestra in Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
Mustakimov is pursuing a doctoral degree at Temple University with professor Charles Abramovic. Mustakimov won the 2013 Heida Hermanns International Competition in piano in Westport, Conn., and has been asked to perform several solo recitals in the United States.
