School Counseling
Graduate Certificate
Our CACREP aligned school counseling graduate certificate program is designed to prepare individuals, who already hold a master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related human services field, to work in Alaska's school systems with a Type C certification. This program is approved by the State of Alaska Department of Education and Early Development. Application to the school counselor graduate certification program follows the same admission requirements and procedures as for the M.Ed. in counseling.
If you already have a master’s degree and want to get your certification in school counseling, this flexible graduate certificate program offers an ideal option.
Leveraging partnerships with rural and urban school districts across Alaska, our school counseling program offers unique opportunities to engage with diverse student communities and gain hands-on experience in the field. We offer digitally delivered web-based synchronous class meetings and/or asynchronous online learning modules, enabling you to earn your graduate certificate in a way that fits your life.
