Welcome to ANSEP at UAF!
The Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program (ANSEP) is a University of Alaska academic program offered at UAF and UAA. ANSEP inspires,
educates, and propels students forward. By infusing the fundamental values of Community,
Family and Collaboration into all elements of the program, ANSEP builds a welcoming
university environment and provides a cornerstone for success. The program is focused
on creating new professionals in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)
among indigenous students, although others interested in these subject areas are welcome
Benefits of ANSEP:
- Working with other students in your field of interest
- Study groups & student support
- Career information & professional contacts
- Summer internships
- Potential scholarship opportunities
- FREE lunch at weekly meetings
ANSEP organizes weekly meetings that are designed to inform students of internship and scholarship opportunities. ANSEP promotes a community that helps students interact with each other to encourage academic assistance. Participation in study groups for math and chemistry classes is required. These sessions help students cope with the challenging classes required for their majors.
Weekly ANSEP meetings will be held every Tuesday during the Fall and Spring semesters from 1:15 to 1:45pm in the Hess Rec Center. They are a great way to chat with other students in the program, as well as learn of professional activities, and grab a FREE lunch.
