Student Opportunities at UAF
Honors College
UAF offers one-of-a-kind opportunities to impact climate policy, science and communities. If you want to make a difference, this is the place to be.
Undergraduate Research & Scholarly Activity (URSA)
The office of Undergraduate Research & Scholarly Activity (URSA) is UAF's resource for the development and promotion of experiential learning activities that engage undergraduate students to support UAF's goal to become a leading student-focused research university.
The First-Gen Forward Mentorship Program
The First-Gen Forward Mentorship Program connects first-gen students with first-gen UAF faculty or staff who can help students navigate college. Through sharing experience and knowledge, mentors and mentees are encouraged to build lasting relationships. SSS and NDAC will offer a series of formal mentorship opportunities and mentors and mentees are encouraged to meet up outside of these activities as well.
VDK Academy for Social Change
The Virgie Dunlap-King (VDK) Academy for Social Change is a program designed to help students discover their potential for becoming change-makers in our community. The academy is intended for student leaders who want to make an impact on our campus.
COLD Leadership Certificate
The UAF SLI Program is committed to developing excellent and effective leaders who will have a statewide, national and global impact. The Co-Curricular Opportunities for Leadership Development (COLD) Certificates are designed to fulfill this commitment to our student body. The COLD Experience will allow participants to advance their knowledge and skills with regard to effective intellectual and cultural leadership. In addition, this co-curricular certificate program will encourage students to be more productive thinkers and to become more civically engaged.
UAF Study Away, Student Exchange & Western Undergraduate Exchange
UAF offers hundreds of national and international exchange, study abroad, and international internship opportunities all over the US and the world! You can earn UAF academic credit while you're away, which may apply to your degree program. From a few weeks in the summer to a semester or two, or more, you'll find a program that works for you. You can even go on more than one program, both nationally and abroad!
Honor Societies
UAF has active chapters of the Golden Key International Honour Society & Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
eCampus
