Campus Resources: What's Available
Continuing Education
UAF's Tanana Valley Campus, a component of the College of Rural Alaska, responds to individual and community needs for innovative training and high-quality continuing education programs. Academic short courses and non-credit workshops are designed to meet the needs of practitioners in the trades or professions. TVC provides supervisory skill seminars for local businesses and agencies, and general programs for cultural enrichment.
The Tanana Valley Campus, in conjunction with other UAF colleges and schools, provides academic courses during evening hours and on weekends on the Fairbanks campus and at its off-campus locations. The alternative course schedules and delivery modes are designed to increase access for working adults and other students whose work, community or family commitments preclude their participation in resident, semester-based programs.
Some courses are enhanced through video, computer programs, and Blackboard (web-based) to permit students to progress at their own pace. Night, weekend, and distance delivered courses are offered to allow students to fulfill general university requirements for the baccalaureate degree. TVC also serves the non-degree student with evening courses for general interest. For information, contact the Tanana Valley Campus at the UAF Downtown Center, (907) 474-7400 or 474-1177 (TTY and voice).
