Where you'll learn.
Wilderness surrounds Fairbanks, yet highways, airlines, fiber and satellites firmly connect it to the world. So you can attend and earn your degree online from anywhere.
In Fairbanks, you’ll find the Troth Yeddha’ Campus and the UAF Community and Technical College. Beyond, regional campuses serve Kotzebue, Bethel, Nome and Dillingham. Research sites can take you to Kodiak in the south, Juneau in the east and Toolik Lake above the Arctic Circle.

UAF talk explores new greenhouse tech for winter crops

A University of Alaska Fairbanks researcher will share her work on applying new technologies in greenhouses to extend the growing season in northern environments as part of the series “Circumpolar Connections: A Dialogue on Arctic Food Systems.”

Chelsea San Roman, a farm and research technician at the Matanuska Experiment Farm in Palmer, will share stories and experiences from the 2025 Circumpolar Agriculture Conference in Tromsø, Norway, in a talk originally scheduled for Dec. 8. The new date is Wednesday, Jan. 14, from noon-1 p.m.
2025 Sparktacular celebration postponed
The 2025 Sparktacular fireworks display, originally scheduled for New Year’s Eve, is being postponed due to extreme cold temperatures and the likelihood of ice fog.
