The progress of human society is marked by passage from one metal age to another. Minerals and energy together form the keystone of our present economy, and it is difficult to conceive of modern life without them. Career opportunities in minerals and energy are limited only by a person’s ability to apply engineering principles in new and imaginative ways.
The School of Mineral Engineering comprises the Department of Mining and Geological Engineering, the Department of Petroleum Engineering, the Mineral Industry Research Laboratory and the Petroleum Development Laboratory.
