Introduction to Welding
Introduction and orientation to the processes and procedures involved in the welding field with a "hands-on" approach. (2 + 2) Offered As Demand Warrants

Intermediate Welding
Continuation of WMT 101. (Prerequisite: WMT 101.) (2 + 2) Offered As Demand Warrants


WMT 103  3 Credits
Welding I
Entry-level course in basic oxyacetylene, arc welding and flame cutting. Attendance at first two classes is mandatory. Materials fee: $275. (3 + 0) Offered Fall, Spring


WMT 105  3 Credits
Welding II
Arc welding techniques and basic MIG and TIG welding. Attendance at first two classes is mandatory. Materials fee: $275. (Prerequisite: WMT 103 or permission of instructor.) (3 + 0) Offered Fall, Spring


WMT 106  3 Credits
Heat Treating/Metal Finishing/Knife Making I
Heat treating, metal finishing. Build two knives, heat treat and finish. (Must have excellent hand-eye coordination. Attendance at first class mandatory. Recommended: WMT F117 and WMT F241.) (2 + 3) Offered Fall, Spring


WMT 117  3 Credits
Oxy-Acetylene Welding and Cutting
Safe oxyacetylene welding techniques and procedures of common metals. Welding of these metals taught in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions. Attendance at first two class meetings is mandatory. Materials fee: $200. (2 + 5) Offered As Demand Warrants


WMT 130  1-3 Credits
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
All positions emphasized for multiple pass fillet welds. A maximum of three credits are awarded for successful completion of any of the four sections; 130A-Certif SMAW (1F); 130B-Certif SMAW (2F); 130C-Certif SMAW (3F); 130D-Certif SMAW (4F). Presented in competency-based manner. (1-3+0)


WMT 150  1-3 Credits
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
Use of tungsten and argon gas for aluminum and stainless steel gas welding (formerly called Heliarc). A maximum of three credits are awarded for successful completion of any of the four sections; 150A-Certif GMAW Alum (1F); 150B-Certif GMAW Alum (2F); 150C-Certif GMAW Alum (3F); 150D-Certif GMAW ALum (4F). Presented in competency-based manner. (1-3+0) Offered As Demand Warrants


WMT 160  1-3 Credits
Gas Metal Arc Weld Alum (GMAW)
Prepare student to work on microwire processes. A maximum of three credits awarded for successful completion of any of the four sections; 160A-Certif GMAW M.Steel (1F); 160B-Certif GMAW M. Steel (2F); 160C-Certif GMAW M. Steel (3F); 160D-Certif GMAW M. Steel (4F). Presented in competency-based manner. (1-3+0) Offered As Demand Warrants


WMT 170  3 Credits
Military Training Welding I
Entry-level oxyacetylene welding, cutting, soldering and brazing. Conforms to special training standards labeled 3E3X1. Uses parts of CDC 55250A volume #5 as a guide. Materials fee $200. (Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.) (2 + 4.5) Offered Fall


WMT 206  3 Credits
Heat Treating/Metal Finishing/Knife Making II
Second level of knife making and heat treating using more complex metals and additional equipment. Materials fee: $300. (Must have excellent hand-eye coordination. Attendance at first class mandatory. Recommended: WMT 106, WMT 117 and WMT 241.) (2 + 2) Offered Fall, Spring

Uphill Pipe Welding
Prepare and weld pipe in an uphill manner. Materials fee: $275. (Prerequisite: permission of instructor.) (2 + 3.5) Offered As Demand Warrants


WMT 241  3 Credits
Gas Tungsten Arc and Gas Metal Arc Welding
Entry-level gas tungsten arc welding concentrating on aluminum. Materials will be welded in all positions. Gas metal arc welding focuses on ferrous and nonferrous metals welded in all positions. Attendance at first two class meetings is mandatory. Materials fee: $300. (1.5 + 5.5) Offered Fall


WMT 270  3 Credits
Military Training Welding II
Conforms to special training standards parts 1 - 4 of CDC 55250A volume #6. Materials fee $250. (Prerequisite: WMT 170 or permission of instructor.) (2 + 4.5) Offered Fall


WMT 280  3 Credits
Military Training Welding III
Intermediate TIG and MIG welding. Fabrication with aluminum and steel. Real world situations and conditions are simulated. Materials fee $250. (Prerequisite: WMT 170 and WMT 270, or permission of instructor.) (2 + 4.5) Offered Fall


WMT 290  3 Credits
Welding Proficiency Maintenance
Maintenance of a high degree of welding proficiency through practice of previously-learned processes. Review of safety procedures. Materials fee $275. (Prerequisite: WMT 170, WMT 270 and WMT 280 or permission of instructor.) (2 + 4.5) Offered Fall
