Greek Life at UAF
UAF offers the first national sorority in the state of Alaska. Sigma Sigma Sigma was founded in 1898 and has over 100,000 women nationwide as current members. Established on the UAF campus in 1993, members share a strong commitment to sisterhood, academics and community service to round out the college experience. Sigmas are provided with academic support and leadership opportunities.
The first fraternity in Alaska was also founded at UAF. Sigma Phi Epsilon began nationally in 1901 on the principles of virtue, diligence and brotherly love and ranks as one of the oldest and most respected fraternities in the nation. The UAF chapter was officially installed in March 1997. Through community service, campus leadership and fraternalism, Sigma Phi Epsilon gives its members the opportunity to become a balanced man.
Look for Greek Week, during the first week of fall semester, for more information on these organizations.
