Office of Multicultural Affairs
The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) seeks to create an environment of cultural sensitivity and appreciation of the minority experience at UAF. The primary purpose is to coordinate and implement comprehensive cross-cultural programs to promote diversity and heighten awareness. The OMA offers advice and counsel to students, tutoring and peer mentoring, as well as a network of academic and personal support. In addition, three student organizations are housed within the OMA: the Black Awareness Student Union, the Spanish Club and the National Society of Black Engineers. All students are welcome to become involved in the OMA, participate in its activities and use its resources. Considered a "home away from home," the OMA is located in room 110 of the Eielson Building and can be reached at (907) 474-7300 or fax (907) 474-5548.
