Jenifer Garcia on the Community at CBSM

CBSM provides a powerful sense of community for students, faculty and alumni. The wide variety of events, clubs and opportunities make it easy for anyone to get involved. Through these immersive experiences, students are able to connect, not only with their classmates, but with leaders to find support and mentorship. There is a feeling of connectedness that comes from this high level of community involvement, even for our online students.

Jenifer Garcia, a 2022 accounting and business administration alumna, shares her thoughts on the the sense of community she found at CBSM:

"I felt so lucky to attend a university that provided so many opportunities for students. I’ve attended other universities, and when it came to UAF, feeling comfortable was effortless. The most rewarding part of CBSM was the clubs! I loved being a part of the student organizations because I connected with others who understood my academic journey and had similar interests. How unique to have professors reach out to me about various opportunities, which ultimately lead me to a professional track with KPMG. The community at CBSM has been a life changer."
