Suited for Success: The Sequel

Eric Andersen poses in suit from Frank's Menswear
School of Management student, Erik Andersen shows off his new suit from Frank's Menswear.

For the past few years, In My Element, a UAF alumna-owned women’s clothing boutique, has helped UAF School of Management (SOM) students with their professional wear as a way to prepare them for life outside the classroom and in the workplace.

Recently, the event was rebranded as the “Professionally Polished” program and it now caters to all students. While the generous donations from In My Element are greatly appreciated, their clothing is geared towards the female audience. For the second year in a row, thanks to a donation from Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union, SOM was once again able to collaborate with Sarah Smith, owner of Frank’s Menswear, for this program. Frank’s staff provided guidance by teaching students what to look for when buying a suit. For a few of the students, this was their very first suit. Frank’s also offered a special discount and 12 SOM students participated in the program.

The Professionally Polished program lays important groundwork for students who are migrating from student life toward professional life as they graduate from the university and find jobs. Giving students a boost in their wardrobes gives them a boost in their confidence, as well. We wish all our students the best with their professional style in the future.

Thank you to Spirit of Alaska FCU and Frank’s Menswear for supporting School of Management students.
