Jim Pruitt Supports Professional Work Wear

 

For a few years In My Element, a UAF alumna-owned women’s clothing boutique, has helped UAF School of Management (SOM) students gain confidence and become professionally polished to enter the professional workplace. Owner Sheryl DeBoard hosts an annual workshop to help students learn the basics of professional business wear and follows with an annual generous donation of clothing from In My Element.

This is a wonderful program, but there was nothing in place for the male students -- until now. UAF alumnus Jim Pruitt reached out to SOM and offered to help. With Mr. Pruitt’s gift of $2,500, SOM collaborated with Sarah Smith, owner of Frank’s Menswear. Frank’s staff helped students learn suit basics and for several of these students, this was their first suit. Frank’s also offered a special discount and 12 SOM male students participated in the program.
