Single stemmed or multi-stemmed with horizontal branching creating layered effect; green leaves turning purple/brown in autumn; white flowers on 2” clusters in June; ¼” purple fruit; grows in moist acid soils in partial shade.

Leaf spot; prefers cool soils.
