Distinctions

Flattened, dark green, aromatic needles, silver-blue below; cones purple, 2"-3" long and held upright; young trees form a spire-like conical-shaped crown; grows on a variety of soil types and prefers organic soils with pH 4-6.5; will grow in full shade to full sun; a popular Christmas trees.

Limitations

Requires high moisture; protect from winter winds.
